Does the Biden administration need to uplift the tariff on Chinese EV cars and batteries to 200%, 300%, 400%.......even trillions percent?

Only days after Biden (in his attempt to stop China flooding the US car market with cheap EVs) uplifted tariff on Chinese EV cars and batteries to 100%, Chinese battery company CATL had developed a fast-charging Shenxing battery capable of delivering 400km of range from a ten-minute charge.

The battery is to be rolled out in electric vehicles later this year, so, wait for it, trillion percent tariff on China EVs is loomimg on USA's political playbook.

The heavily sudsidised USA politcians are bewildered - how the over capacity China CCP is so good in flooding the market with over produced innovative quality products at fraction of US prices?)

The proposed Power of Siberia 2 pipe line:
2 routng options: either going through Mongolia or Kazakhstan.

Mongolia is Putin's preferred choice whilst China likes the Kazakhstan route more.

Sticking points with the Mongolia option:

  • Mongolia agreed to jointly mine the extensive deposits of rare earths with USA. China is unhappy that Mongolia is using the pipeline construction to demand the use of a nearby China’s port to export its rare earth to the USA.
  • Putin is upset because Mongolia wants to join the United States’s Indo-Pacific pack.

Mongolia is struggling to pay off its external debts:
Mongolia has a chronic external debt problem, around 175% of its GDP.
Once the pippeline is built, the routing fee will help to ease its finance difficulty.

A wrong move will drive China/Russia away, end up letting Kazakhstan banking money for doing nothing.
