UK closed its 700 ft Hammersmith Bridge for repair in 2019.
Hammersmith Bridge was initially closed to motor vehicles in April 2019 due to concerns about cracking in the cast iron pedestals. It was fully closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and cyclists, in August 2020 following further deterioration. The bridge has since partially reopened to pedestrians and cyclists in July 2021 after some repair work, but remains closed to motor vehicles till sometime in 2030.

Whilst UK elite engineers struggling to repair a 700ft bridge, Chinese peasants built the world's biggest train station in 38 months.

(Side note: Spending £250 million over 10 years to repair a 700 ft bridge must be the only construction challenge that no Chinese peasant dare to take on. LOL!!)
