Recruits with no GED or high school diploma can now enter the service, so long as they can score above the 50th percentile on the Armed Services Qualification Test (ASQT).
An aging U.S. Navy fleet is facing a critical inflection point in 2026: the shrinking 290-ship fleet (on last count) is struggling to maintain operational demands amid slow, challenged shipbuilding rates.
